Romantic Vacation Spots
You can choose something different for your Christmas getaways this year. Instead of cold winter you can choose to spend your Christmas on hot Florida beach.

The kind that will make your sweetheart swoon and think you are the most romantic person there ever was.
Night Lights
No, I’m not talking about the big city here. I’m talking about getting away from the crowds and the lights so that you can sip champagne and look at the night sky in all its glory.
And here’s a unique way to do this; rent a houseboat in the Florida Keys or Flamingo and put out to sea (so to speak) in Florida Bay. The water is calm and you can drift away from the city lights and gaze up at the stars and the moon. Don’t forget the music!
Lover’s Key
There are a romantic vacation resorts in Florida’s Southwest Gulf coast called Lover’s Key. It was originally named because you couldn’t get there from the mainland without a boat, so it was an, ahem, secluded spot.
Now a road connects Lover’s Key to the mainland, but it’s still a romantic getaway. Why not take the sunset eco-tour cruise and enjoy the sun’s rays lingering on the horizon while you get a chance to see natural Florida. Or maybe you’d prefer the morning dolphin tour and shelling excursion?
A Romantic Florida Wedding
You’re thinking one of the Florida Keys, right? Wrong! I’m talking about a South Seas seriously romantic wedding in Walt Disney World, at the Polynesian resort. I know, Disney is a favorite of honeymooners, but you don’t usually think of it as being romantic.
But if you want an over-the-top romantic wedding to remember for a lifetime, think about a fairytale wedding package at Cinderella’s Castle, where you can have fireworks go off as you take your first kiss as husband and wife.
Other Romantic Florida Vacations
Daytona Beach has some interesting places for romance; one is The Shores Resort and Spa, where there are several couples packages. Enjoy champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, a moonlit beach stroll, breakfast in bed and spa treatments as well.
There are bed and breakfasts located all around the Sunshine State and many have special packaged designed for a romantic interlude. One off-the-beaten-path rendezvous spot is called Turtle Beach Inn, and it’s appropriately located on Florida’s "Forgotten Coast" — the area from the Big Bend on the east to around Apalachicola on the west. It’s small, cozy and secluded, with miles of pristine beaches.
How about staying on a resort that’s on its own island? Little Palm Island in the Florida Lower Keys is indeed on its own island, with just 30 suites (28 of which are in thatch-roof bungalows). They have a five-day romance package that should make anyone go weak in the knees, what with champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, a steaming bath with rose petals…you get the idea.
Yes, we’re known as the Sunshine State and sometimes the Tourist State, but we should also be known for our romantic Florida vacations.
